Tantramar Revisited
2012
Struts Gallery, Sackville, NB
Art Souterrain & Nuit Blanche, Montreal, QC (2013)
Tantramar Revisited (2012) plays with the concepts of historical fact and of collective heritage, with four ludic short documentaries that mix fiction and reality. Each of the four self-contained documentary-style vignettes presents a unique, playful and often anachronous fictitious historical aspect of the Tantramar region in southeastern New Brunswick and is presented on it’s own private viewing kiosk – gutted telephones refitted with touch video screens.
Tantramar Revisited was initially installed in Struts Gallery, in Sackville New Brunswick from July 31 – August 31, 2012. It was also screened separately in November as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of Sackville’s founding entitled “Sackville, I’m Yours”. It was also installed in Montreal, Quebec as part of the Art Souterrain festival, running from March 2-17, 2013, opening as part of Montreal’s Nuit Blanche on March 2, 2013.
