The Rogue Cinema and the Garden of Earthly Detritus
2009
Struts Gallery, Sackville, NB
The Rogue Cinema is a miniature venue inspired by both the Vogue Cinema and Sackville Music Hall. It was installed as part of the Garden of Earthly Detritus during Struts Galleries Living is Easy Summer Programming. I made two animations to screen with this venue. An outdoor screening of Cutting – a short rotoscoped animation in which i reveal certain facets of my daily life while sharing my thoughts on them – and The Hook is an even shorter animation running silently on a loop inside the theatre. The rest of the space was filled with wiggly flower sculptures for sale… hundred’s of ’em.
