A friend needed some particularly small buttons for a miniature stuffed animal she was making (i think around 2009-2010 or so), so I went into experimentation mode and manufactured some wee buttons for her from recycled plastic, and even sewed them onto little cards for her… and in so doing kinda fell in love and decided to spend a few more hours on this project… ending up with hundreds of finished button cards and a scrappy – but functional – stand made from recycled bits and bobs.
In it’s making, i thought of it as a stand alone scultpure – which it was in it’s debut showing (and it still is in my mind) – but after frequent requests, i caved to the will of the people, and started selling the button cards individually … which i can replenish as required – at least as long as there is plastic garbage in the world, that is!
currently [and for a limited time] this sculpture is on view at and/or these hand made button cards can be purchsed individually at visitors in saint john, nb.
