In 2007 I made two Sweetest Little Thing submissions – Sweetest Little Smoochy Smooch, which would spin some of the little teeth on springs when the thermometer was turned up. Made, as per usual, with found and recycled parts, including a motor, a little paint, some synthetic cork, and a small cardboard box. The mounted baby limb, was the start of many mounted baby limbs i would go on to make (but not for the Sweetest Little Thing), and it is just the leftover leg of a doll I took apart, fastened to a wooden drink coaster, with some ink.
Sweetest Little Thing is an annual Valentines day art auction in Sackville NB, in support of both the Owens Art Gallery (where it’s held) and Struts Gallery and Faucet Media Art Centre. Locally, it’s a fun, family friendly party (replete with a cakewalk), but even if you are from afar, you can participate by submitting you high bid online, and have proxy bidders win that art for you, you lovers of art!
