my mom is in several quilt guilds. they often have quilt challenges.
in this instance they were each given some ugly fabric - a chritsmasy print with pinecones,
needles and berries. they are further constrained by size and the number of additional fabrics they can use. my mom asked my to design her a quilt to meet these requirements.

below is what she sent me back. i was hooked.
